Teachers feedback:
  • Opening shot is great, think about lingering with your title though, it flashes up too fast
  • Dancers clearing out of the hallway needs to be longer, the audience won’t understand what they’re seeing with it so fast
  • 2 after effects needed
  • Great combo of establishing shots, just needs credits in a creepy font coming on and off the screen in a clever way that matches the music (maybe an after effect idea?)
  • Music is effective, just needs another layer to intensify it (maybe a violin holding some creepy notes??) when stalker appears?
  • Some great dancing shots
  • Think about transitions you could have, especially for dancing shots. Look up superimposing images across one another to create a better flowing montage
  • Think about the reveal of the creepy stalker, include slow motion maybe, real intense sound effect? Something to make the audience increase in tension and suspense
  • Eerie sound effects needed to layer over creepy part where stalker is added to the picture
  • Not sure whether the stalker in the dance studio at the end is as effective as maybe an empty dance studio.. have a play around with this
  • Add in credits that fit with style of music

  In the extract from the movie Bourne Identity meaning is created through the 4 elements, camera shots/angles/movement and composition, editing, sound, and mise-En-scene.   Mise-En-scene is shown a lot throughout as meaning can be found from most of the things put into the film. For example, two key colours, blue and red, are used to represent the main character, Bourne’s, life.    Red represents the future, who he is becoming and blue is his past, who he was. The film plays along with this as there would be moments when he would be in a dark area looking towards blue lights, indicating he was almost looking back at his past.  Warner Bros In 1925 The Warner Bros logo the letters expanded into a shield and the focus was then shifted to the words beneath them. The also incorporated the companies "The Vitaphone Corp." as this involved the production as found films and this was Warner Bros way of announcing that they were moving from silent to talking movies. Five years later the Vitaphone emblem was removed and it started to look like how we see it today In the 60-70s, WB lived through two reorganizations and, therefore, two rebrandings. In 1967, WB was acquired by Seven Arts, Inc. and renamed into Warner Bros.-Seven Arts. On a new emblem W was merged with C and B was completely dropped. In  1970, Kinney Services took over the film company and and renamed it again into Warner Communications.   How is the War of the Worlds example of 1938 a good example of audiences relating to a media product? What was the context of this event?  The slot being part of the Mercury on the air theatre segment helped to target listeners who enjoyed theatre and drama. His voice was used as the voice over, so it allowed it to be familiar to some listeners. The way it was designed made it seem real realistic to audiences and may have made some audiences scared. like the use of a panicked voice and mentions of real New York locations. Like how the Hypodermic needle theory suggests that message is received and wholly accepted by the receiver, the audience becomes a passive audience as the story is so relatable and real they don't even question it being fiction.
